🌱 Climate Resilient Communities (CRC) is a volunteer-run project operating under Transition Toronto. We help marginalized communities build climate resilience, leveraging data & AI to transform climate anxiety into effective action.
🌻 Current projects include a youth data literacy workshop program, a community adaptation capacity building workshop program, a multilingual AI chatbot for accessible climate information, and a youth climate anxiety detection project to provide timely mental health supports and interventions.
Time Commitment: 2-5 hours per week based on project needs and flexibility
Location: Remote within Canada
What you'll be doing:
- Act as an agile project manager for 1-2 projects, facilitating things like backlog grooming, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and retrospectives, and standups.
- Ensure meetings are efficient, keeping discussions on track and within the allotted time.
- Collaborate with the Technical Lead to prioritize and refine the project backlog, ensuring tasks are well-defined and ready for development.
- Send mid-cycle check-in messages to keep the team aligned and informed on project progress.
Ideal Skill Set:
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Technical competence, with a general understanding of the project or team's focus area.
- Experience in project management, including Agile and Scrum
- Communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and motivate a team.
- Interest in climate resilience and social justice initiatives.
