🌱 Climate Resilient Communities (CRC) is a volunteer-run project operating under Transition Toronto. We help marginalized communities build climate resilience, leveraging data & AI to transform climate anxiety into effective action.
🌻 Current projects include a youth data literacy workshop program, a community adaptation capacity building workshop program, a multilingual AI chatbot for accessible climate information, and a youth climate anxiety detection project to provide timely mental health supports and interventions.
Time Commitment: 2-5 hours per week based on project needs and flexibility
Location: Remote within Canada
What you'll be doing:
- Design Creation: Develop engaging and visually appealing graphics for a variety of platforms, including social media, newsletters, presentations, and our website, using Canva as the primary design tool.
- Feedback and Iteration: Be open to receiving feedback and iterate on designs to meet project requirements and enhance visual impact.
- Brand Consistency: Ensure all designs align with CRC’s branding guidelines and communicate our mission effectively across all visual content.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the communications team to create graphics that support campaigns, events, and educational materials, bringing creative ideas to life.
- Template Development: Design and maintain a library of Canva templates for recurring use by the team, making it easy to produce consistent and professional content quickly.
Ideal Skill Set:
- Proficiency in Canva: Strong experience using Canva for creating a wide range of digital graphics, with a good eye for layout, typography, and color.
- Passion for Visual Storytelling: A passion for using design to tell stories and engage communities, with a particular interest in climate action and social justice.
- Creativity: Ability to think creatively and develop original designs that resonate with CRC’s audience and effectively communicate key messages.
- Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail, ensuring high-quality design output that is polished and error-free.
- Time Management: Strong ability to manage multiple design projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines while maintaining design quality.
