🌱 Climate Resilient Communities (CRC) is a volunteer-run project operating under Transition Toronto. We help marginalized communities build climate resilience, leveraging data & AI to transform climate anxiety into effective action.
🌻 Current projects include a youth data literacy workshop program, a community adaptation capacity building workshop program, a multilingual AI chatbot for accessible climate information, and a youth climate anxiety detection project to provide timely mental health supports and interventions.
Time Commitment: 1-5 hours per week based on project needs and flexibility
Currently we have a particular need for volunteers with any of the following:
● Climate change adaptation knowledge
● Data analysis, or AI/ML skillset
● Web development skills
● General marketing & communications skills
● General research skills
What you’ll be doing:
● Choose one of our projects to volunteer with that aligns with your skills & interests
● Attend regular (monthly or bi-weekly) meetings and contribute to the tasks, learning from other project members and contributing to the project’s success
