🌱 Climate Resilient Communities (CRC) is a volunteer-run project operating under Transition Toronto. We help marginalized communities build climate resilience, leveraging data & AI to transform climate anxiety into effective action.
🌻 Current projects include a youth data literacy workshop program, a community adaptation capacity building workshop program, a multilingual AI chatbot for accessible climate information, and a youth climate anxiety detection project to provide timely mental health supports and interventions.
Time Commitment: 5-10 hours per week based on project needs and flexibility
What you’ll be doing:
● Researching community climate adaptation use cases for our youth data literacy workshop & community capacity building workshop
● Create educational materials and resources tailored to community needs
● Collaborate with community organizations to integrate climate knowledge into local initiatives
Ideal skill set:
● Knowledge in climate adaptation, environmental science, or a related field.
● Strong research and analytical skills.
● Interest in creating educational materials and leading training sessions.
● Passion for climate resilience and social justice initiatives.
